Marcus L. Ruscitto
Marc was recognized as one of the most knowledgeable members of the Internet and telecommunications community. On a consulting basis, local firms often would request his expertise in computer networking and Internet/Intranet business applications. His understanding of the business was only equaled by his passion for the industry as a whole. Marc held several domestic and international patents regarding Internet delivery and distribution technologies. Along with his telecommunications expertise, Marc graduated in 1992 cum laude from Miami University of Ohio, with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Finance. He also served as a specialist in international portfolio management with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc.
Marc was truly a Pittsburgh Fan. He served on many Boards to help Pittsburgh move forward as a leader in technology, and mentored and supported the Entrepreneurial Community. He served on the Advisory Committee of the Entrepreneur's Network, served on the Board of Directors for a number of local and statewide organizations, including the United Way of Allegheny County, The Logic House, WQED Multimedia, Net Health Systems, Inc, and 3 Rivers Connect. Marc also was a member of the Board of Trustees for the Burger King Cancer Caring Center, and the New Leadership Board of the Pittsburgh Symphony.
During Marc's years at Stargate, his leadership qualities resulted in Stargate winning the prestigious American Business Ethics award, won 1st place in the "Fastest Growing Inner City 100" awards, and was named as one of "Pittsburgh's 55 Pacesetters for the New Millennium" by Small Business News magazine. Additionally, Marc was recognized by the Vectors' Pittsburgh organization as its' Person of the Year in Technology for 1999.
