How Can You Help Prevent Bullying?

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Whether you are a parent or a current student, chances are you have encountered bullying at some point in your academic career.  But with the rise of the Internet in the past decade - and social media sites in particular - bullying has a new and ever-changing face.

NewsRadio 1020 KDKA's Larry Richert and John Shumway talk with Dr. Adolph Brown III, a motivational speaker and bullying expert, about the dangers and warning signs of bullying.  Brown tells Larry and John that  in many cases, the most difficult role can belong to the parent of the child doing the bullying.

Brown suggests ways that parents can help prevent bullying before it starts, and how to defuse the situation when a child is already being bullied.

Brown will be in town this week to speak at the Bullying Prevention Conference at California University of Pennsylvania.  The conference was organized in part by the Marcus L. Ruscitto Charitable Foundation.

More information on Dr. Brown can be found at http://docspeaks.com/, and more information on the Marcus L. Ruscitto Foundation and the Bullying Prevention Conference can be found at http://marcusruscittofoundation.org/.

Listen to Larry Richert and John Shumway on the KDKA Morning News every weekday from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA!
